Kidepo Valley National Park is one of those out of the ordinary places in East Africa. A place as you might imagine Africa would be, but only better. Raw, remote, unspoiled and almost unvisited.
The perfect place for your African adventure.
Located in the northeastern corner of Uganda ,it is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is also the most magnificent, for Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.
You will continue the Safari to Kidepo Valley National Park through vast open plains and small settlements along the way to Karamoja .Driving time is 5-6 hours arriving for a hot lunch at the lodge. If time allows we will set off in the mid afternoon for a nature walk and a guided cultural village tour where you will learn about the nomadic lifestyle of the people around Karenga and Kidepo. During this cultural tour you will visit the Karamojong homesteads (manyattas) and see the kraals of cattle, the traditional costumes, stools, spears, headdress, knives, bows and arrows, jewelry, grinding stones and utensils all made locally by the natives. The Karimojong culture is a unique one plus their homesteads which are similar to those of the Masaai people.
